and made her a star of the New Wave, confirmed
in 1963 with Contempt by Godard.

BB. makes a string of films abroad
She discovers Brazil and Bossa Nova in Buzios
her music becomes part of her profession; she has numerous hits, one of which is La Madrague

1966-1969 Marriage to Gunther Sachs
BB. switches between the Paris jet set, film sets,
but also La Madrague and the Mediterranean

The collaboration between Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourg marked a turning point in her singing career, with virtuoso releases which would become renowned the world over and remain so today.

B.B becomes a legend in France and is the first woman whose facial characteristics feature on the bust of Marianne, the national personification of the French Republic,  symbol of liberty, equality, fraternity.
She began to long for a more serene lifestyle, in harmony with animals and nature.

In 1973, she halted her artistic career and committed herself completely to the animal rights cause. Her Foundation was created in 1986 and BB. is still active within it.
